About 127 Collective

Who We Are

We are a faith-driven nonprofit working in Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi, Africa—where hundreds of widowed women face the daily reality of poverty, trauma, and survival. Many have been forced into unthinkable choices just to feed their children.

We exist to change that.

Our Mission

Our mission is to restore hope and dignity to widows in developing countries by providing dignified employment, biblical counseling, and spiritual support—empowering them to overcome exploitation, support their families, and grow in their relationship with God.

Our Story

127 Collective was born out of a personal encounter in 2024. On a visit to Dzaleka Refugee Camp, we met women who were strong, resilient—and desperate. Widowed by war, disease, or displacement, they had no way to provide for their children. Some had turned to prostitution simply to survive. We knew we couldn’t walk away unchanged.

So we’re preparing to begin with what we have: five courageous women, natural stone beads, chitenge fabric, and locally gathered paper ready to be repurposed. Once our startup goal is met, we will launch training in jewelry making, sewing, and recycled paper products—opening the door to dignified income, healing community, counseling, and discipleship.

We believe God is just getting started—and through your support, beauty will rise from brokenness.

Why “127”?

Our name is rooted in James 1:27:
"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress..."

This verse is not just our inspiration—it’s our calling.

What We Value

  • Dignity: We believe every woman bears the image of God and deserves work that honors her worth.

  • Healing: We care for the whole person—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

  • Faith: Jesus is at the center of everything we do.

  • Sustainability: Our model focuses on long-term solutions, not temporary aid.

  • Local Empowerment: We use locally sourced materials and employ local leaders to foster community-based transformation.

Where We’re Headed

We envision a future where no woman is left to survive alone—where widows across Africa and beyond are equipped to rise up, support their families, and walk in the fullness of who God created them to be.

We believe every woman deserves to be seen, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.
